Riding Lessons at Hunters Pointe Stables

Lessons are offered year-round on a flexible schedule. Although several students enjoy competing at local shows, Hunters Pointe recognizes that everyone has different goals. The trainer works closely with each student to ensure that the lesson plan supports individual objectives. An encouraging environment makes each lesson a positive experience. Tacking, grooming, safety, and basic care for the horses is an integral part of the lesson program.

Hunters Pointe offers several different lesson horses to meet a variety of training needs. Beginner ponies through advanced horses are matched with students for an optimal riding experience. Ground lessons are available for students on rainy days to expand their knowledge and increase horsemanship skills. Class sizes are small to ensure individualized attention.

About Our Trainer

Kara Gallimore is the barn manager and head trainer. She has competed on the local and A show level in hunter/jumper for many years. As a result of her love for riding, she has inspired several children as well as adults to pursue and achieve their dreams with their equine partners. Through the years, Kara has had the opportunity to work with many horses and ponies. Several of the lesson horses were started by Kara and she has finished many horses that have gone on to successful show careers. After many years of working as a barn manager and trainer, Kara opened Hunters Pointe Stables in 2005. Her students experience remarkable success at local shows, Sedgefield and Raleigh. She has dedicated herself to creating a safe and fun learning environment for students of all ages and a haven for her four-legged friends.
